THE ABSOLUT COMPANY
Absolut. Definitively.
Amsterdam.
Absolut’s iconic bottle campaign began in 1980, growing U.S. sales from 10,000 to 4.5 million cases by 2000. To reach new markets, the brand launched city-specific ads, including Absolut Amsterdam, first featuring a canal house shaped like the bottle.
In 2003, Leon Baaren and I created the new Absolut Amsterdam ad for TBWA\Paris, depicting a 'bakfiets' stacked with furniture forming the bottle shape.
In 2008, Absolut won the Grand European Effie for its legendary decades-long campaign — our ad was part of the winning submission.
